Moss Beach
The scenic Moss Beach area has a thriving eco-tourist industry with the Fitzgerald Marine Sanctuary and sea kayaking. For those that would rather just sit and take in the views of the Pacific Ocean, the Moss Beach Distillery (shown above) boasts one of the largest patios in the area.

Location – Located just 6½ miles north of Half Moon Bay
Population – Around 1,950 residents
Established – The community has been thriving since the early 1900s
Weather – Generally speaking, Moss Beach has the warmest daytime temperatures during the spring and fall months. During the summer months, the days can be overcast, foggy, and very chilly – especially in June and July . Winter months are often rainy and cold.
Primary Industries are/were – farming.
Area Attractions:
• Fitzgerald Marine Reserve – The Reserve is set aside to protect this complex but fragile community for us and future generations. Within the reserve, most marine life is protected. The Reserve is popular with school and community groups for its educational value. Directions: Take California Ave. off of Hwy 1 in Moss Beach.
• Moss Beach Park – A Small town park for children.
Tourist Destinations:
• Moss Beach Distillery – An historic Half Moon Bay area restaurant with ocean view dining, outdoor patio and the famous blue lady ghost. It features one of the largest patios with ocean views in the region.
