Volunteers Unite for Earth Day Events on Saturday, April 21st

Who: Save Our Shores
What: Volunteer for one of four Earth Day cleanups in Santa Cruz and Monterey
Where:
- San Lorenzo River Cleanup at Water Street Bridge in Santa Cruz: 10am-1pm
- Beach Cleanup at Cowell/Main Beach in Santa Cruz: 10am-Noon
- Beach Cleanup at Manresa State Beach, sponsored by Nordic Naturals: 10am-Noon
- Beach Cleanup at Del Monte Beach in Monterey: 10am-Noon
Why: Give back to your earth for Earth Day this year. Volunteer with Save Our Shores to cleanup your community while creating cleaner, safer beaches, and a healthier Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary for us all. All cleanup materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to Bring Your Own cleanup materials like reusable bags, buckets, and gloves. Join the Lover’s Point Cleanup on Saturday, March 10
When: Saturday, March 10, 10am-12pm
Who: Save Our Shores
What: Volunteer for the Monterey Monthly Beach Cleanup with Save Our Shores
Where: Lover’s Point in Pacific Grove. Check-in at the parking area off Ocean View Blvd.
Why: Come lend a hand for pollution prevention at the Monterey Monthly Beach Cleanup taking place this month on Saturday, March 10, at Lover’s Point in Pacific Grove. Hosted by Save Our Shores, all cleanup materials provided. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves, reusable bags and/or buckets to help decrease trash. Monterey Monthly Beach Cleanups take place at alternating locations on every 2nd Saturday of the month. Locations can always be found at saveourshores.org.

Del Monte Beach/Monterey Municipal Beach at Wharf #2
When: Monday, July 4th, 1-5pm
Tuesday, July 5th, 8-10am
Who: Save Our Shores
What: Volunteer for Pollution Prevention on July 4th and the Star Spangled Beach Cleanup on July 5th with Save Our Shores
Where: July 4th: Del Monte Beach/Monterey Municipal Beach at Wharf #2
July 5th: Del Monte Beach/Monterey Municipal Beach at Wharf #2,
at Monterey State Beach, and at Carmel Beach
Why: Lend a hand for the oceans and prevent thousands of pounds of pollution from entering the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary during and after the busy, beach-going, Fourth of July holiday. Contact: volunteer@saveourshores.org to participate, register online at saveourshores.org, or simply show up at 8am on July 5th for the second largest beach cleanup of the year. All materials will be provided. Beach cleanup volunteers are encouraged to Bring Your Own cleanup materials like reusable bags, buckets, and gloves.

Monterey Monthly Beach Cleanup Bonus at Del Monte/Municipal Beach

What: Volunteer for a monthly Monterey beach cleanup with Save Our Shores
Where: Del Monte/Municipal Beach at Wharf #2. Check-in in the main Wharf parking lot near the bathrooms.
Why: Come lend a hand for pollution prevention at the Monterey monthly beach cleanup taking place this month on Saturday, May 14th, at Del Monte/Municipal Beach at Wharf #2. Hosted by Save Our Shores, all cleanup materials will be provided, but please bring your own gardening gloves, reusable bags and/or buckets to help decrease trash. Special May beach cleanup bonus: all cleanup volunteers on this day will receive free tickets to the Monterey Bay Aquarium! Show your support for the ocean and join Save Our Shores.

Why: The winter rains wash thousands of pounds of pollution into the ocean that originate on our beaches and in our waterways. Come lend a hand for pollution prevention at the monthly Monterey County beach cleanup on Saturday, April 9th. Happening every 2nd Saturday of the month, the Save Our Shores Monterey monthly beach cleanups are here to stay. All cleanup materials will be provided, but bring your own gardening gloves, reusable bags or buckets to help decrease trash! Show your support for the ocean at Carmel River State Beach!
