Developed specifically to promote travel and recreation in Northern California, Southern Oregon, and Western Nevada, Explorer1.com is quickly becoming the ultimate online travel guide for prospective vacationers coming to our region. And since Explorer1.com's visitors are highly targeted, it has enormous advertising potential for any business that caters to the sports, leisure, and travel!

We have developed a variety of advertising options that are intended to help promote local businesses by providing valuable products, services, and information to Explorer1.com visitors. Advertising Options

1) Basic Text Listing with Hyperlink -- Free of charge

Similar to the white page listings in the phone book, a business' name and address is listed in the appropriate Explorer1.com category with a hyperlink to the company's Web site. Currently, Simple Text Listings with Hyperlink are currently free of charge. (Please note that any changes in this price policy will be communicated well in advance, so you will have an opportunity to decide whether a continue your relationship with Explorer1.com.)

Please note that free of charge listings are only uploaded periodically, so, if your listing is accepted, it may take some time for your listing to appear in our directory. Also, all business listings must include a unique Web site or an Explorer1.com online brochure. We also request that you link back to us from your Web site. Most people generally include us on their "area" or "favorite" links page.

Free of charge listings are NOT available to business offering any type lodging (i.e., hotels, motels, vacation rental, B&Bs). In order to be listed on Explorer1.com, lodging providers must be listed with our reservation partner Travelnow.com or purchase one of the advertising options below.

2) Priority Text Listing with Hyperlink -- $10 per month paid annually

Priority Text Listings with Hyperlink have many advantages over the
Basic Text Listings with Hyperlink describe above, they include:

1) Quick placement -- If your listing is accepted, it will be added to Explorer1.com within 24 hours of payment.

2) Product/Business Description. You can include a 25 word or fewer description with your business listing.

3) Logo, Image or Photograph. You can include a small image with your listing and description. (Standard image size is 80 pixels x 70 pixels.)

4) Web coupon. You can include a Web coupon with your listing. The coupon will also be added to our Web Coupon section.

3) Featured Text Listing with Hyperlink -- Prices vary

The Featured Text Listings places your information (Business name & address, image, and description) in the "featured" section at the top of the requested page. What makes featured links so valuable is they can receive four times the "click throughs" compared to a Priority or Simple Text Listing with Hyperlink.

Depending on your comfort level, we can price the "Featured Text Listing with Hyperlink" based on average page impressions or Pay Per Clicks (PPC).

4) Page Sponsor -- Prices vary

If your product or service is valuable to our visitors, you could potentially sponsor any page on Explorer1.com. For an example, a sporting goods store could potentially run a sponsor banner on our camping or hiking sections.

5) Product Placement -- Prices vary

If your product or service is valuable to our visitors, we may agree to include it in one of our featured articles or page introductions. For an example, in an article featuring Whale watching, a tour boat could have their business name with hyperlink and/or a quote from the captain included within the feature story or page introduction.

6) Online Merchant Partnership -- Commission Based

A Risk Free Opportunity -- If your products/services could benefit a large segment of our visitors, we may be willing to create a free online shopping cart for your products on Explorer1.com. There would be no upfront costs to you. We would simply collect a nominal fee for each transaction made on Explorer1.com.

Web Coupons:

Similar to traditional print coupons, visitors will be able to read through a WebCoupon section and print and clip the products and services they wish to use.

Banner Advertisements:

Generally, a banner advertisement is a 2” x 1” GIF animation, photo or graphic that is designed to attract visitors to an advertiser’s Web coupon, Online Brochure, or Web site. A banner advertisement can be placed on any of Explorer1.com’s pages, but the cost goes up depending on where it’s placed and how many pages it’s placed on.

Online Brochures:

An Online Brochure is similar to a Web site, but it doesn’t have a unique domain name (e.g., www.customer-name.com); instead, a customer’s Online Brochure address would be tagged with Explorer1.com (e.g.,www.explorer1.com/sc/customer-name).

Generally, an Online Brochure can save a business owner up to 80% off the cost to develop and maintain their own Web site.

Web Site Design Services:

If you need the total creative freedom of a customized stand-alone Web site, we offer Web Site Design Services that are priced based on the complexity of the page(s).
