Fleener
Chimneys
Even if you aren't terribly interested in geology, this spatter cone is definitely
worth seeing. It was created by globs of molten lava piling on top of each other.
Hidden Valley
A trail meanders down the valley wall and around the valley floor. Lots of
vegetation and wildlife to hear and see.
Mammoth Crater
Here you can view the enormous size of the 30,000 year-old lava crater that created
most of the lava tube in the monument.
Petroglyph Point
You will step into the past when you view the early cliff wall carvings.
Schonchin Butte
Lookout
The lookout was built in 1939-1941 by Civilian Conservation Corpsmen. Listed
on the national register of historic buildings, it still serves many functions and will
probably be staffed well into the next century.

sightseeing and viewing wildlife.

This 33-foot hemispherical dome features constellations, bright stars and other

Shasta Lake Sightseeing
Shasta Lake's many arms and inlets make it a paradise for explorers and boaters
alike. The four major arms of the lake (Sacrament, McCloud, Squaw Creek, and Pit) offer
spectacular scenery as well as unusual geologic and historic areas of interest.
