Built in 1852, the Camden House is the oldest house in Shasta county. You can tour the El Dorado Mine at any time.

Lake Shasta Caverns

Located on Lake Shasta, the lighted caverns display some very unusual formations. Sightseeing tours include boat and bus trips to the caverns.

Lava Beds National Monument

Visitors can go on self guided sightseeing tours and enjoy both the geologic and historic wonders of this unusual landscape.

Fleener Chimneys
Even if you aren't terribly interested in geology, this spatter cone is definitely worth seeing.  It was created by globs of molten lava piling on top of each other.

Hidden Valley
A trail meanders down the valley wall and around the valley floor.  Lots of vegetation and wildlife to hear and see.

Mammoth Crater
Here you can view the enormous size of the 30,000 year-old lava crater that created most of the lava tube in the monument.

Petroglyph Point
You will step into the past when you view the early cliff wall carvings.

Schonchin Butte Lookout
The lookout was built in 1939-1941 by Civilian Conservation Corpsmen.  Listed on the national register of historic buildings, it still serves many functions and will probably be staffed well into the next century.

Lewiston Lake -- Weaverville, CA Ranger Station
The lake is located downstream from Trinity Dam. It's a wonderful place for sightseeing and viewing wildlife.

Medicine Lake Highlands Volcanic Area -- McCloud Ranger Station
It is one of the most diverse and least visited volcanic centers in California. It has created hundreds of unique volcanic features and formations.

Mt. Shasta Fish Hatchery

Located next to the Sisson Museum, the Mt. Shasta Fish Hatchery is one of oldest in California.

Schreder Planetarium

This 33-foot hemispherical dome features constellations, bright stars and other interesting objects.

Shasta Lake Sightseeing
Shasta Lake's many arms and inlets make it a paradise for explorers and boaters alike. The four major arms of the lake (Sacrament, McCloud, Squaw Creek, and Pit) offer spectacular scenery as well as unusual geologic and historic areas of interest.
