Lassen Volcanic National Park

Located fifty miles east of Redding on highway 44, the Lassen Volcanic National Park is a sightseers paradise full of fascinating volcanic formations and geothermal activity. Although it's open year-round, access to Lassen park can be difficult during winter and early spring due to the snow. The best time of the year to visit the park for hiking and car touring is August and September. The best time for cross country skiing and snowshoeing is January, February and March.

Butte Lake -- (Seasonal) Located 6 miles south on dirt road via Highway 44 East, 17 miles from Old Station. There are  101 campsites with picnic tables, campfire rings, bearproof boxes, flush and vault toilets, drinking water, boat launch, fishing, swimming. One disabled site #A6.

Butte Lake Group Site -- (Seasonal, By Reservation Only.) Located 6 miles south on dirt road via Highway 44 East, 17 miles from Old Station. It has 6 campsites each offering a picnic table, campfire ring, bearproof box, flush and vault toilets, drinking water, boat launch, fishing, swimming.

Drakesbad Guest Ranch (Offers lodging inside the park) Located inside Lassen Volcanic National Park, it offers the park's only available guest lodging. For reservations call (530) 529-1512

Crags Campgrounds   (Seasonal) Located in Lassen Volcanic National Park, the campsites are available on a first come, first served basis.  For more information, (530) 595-4444.

Lost Creek Group Campgrounds (Seasonal) Located in Lassen Volcanic National Park, the group camp is available by reservation. For more information, (530) 595-4444.

Juniper Lake Group Campgrounds (Seasonal) Located in Lassen Volcanic National Park, the group camp is available by reservation. For more information, (530) 595-4444.

Manzanita Lake Campgrounds  (Seasonal) Located in Lassen Volcanic NP, the campsites are available on a first come, first served basis.  It can also accommodate RVs.  For more information, (530) 595-4444.

Southwest Walk-In Campgrounds  (Closed for construction from 5/2007 to 9/2008) Located in Lassen Volcanic National Park, the campsites are available on a first come, first served basis.  For more information, (530) 595-4444.

Summit Lake North Campgrounds  (Seasonal) Located in Lassen Volcanic National Park, the campsites are available on a first come, first served basis.  For more information, (530) 595-4444.
