Trinity Lake / Weaverville Area
The Trinity Lake/Weaverville area is one of three units that comprise the Whiskeytown-Trinity-Trinity National Recreation Area. It was established by Congress in 1965. These areas are recognized for their unique and varied recreation potential. The Trinity Lake Unit and the Trinity Lake Boating Safety maps are available in our offices at no charge. Trinity and Lewiston Lakes form the core of the Trinity Unit where water oriented sports such as fishing, water-skiing and houseboating dominate the recreation spotlight. For the adventurous, however, there are many other activities, such as; wildlife viewing, hiking, hunting, automobile touring, photography, and picnicking.

Campground Camping Areas
Single units= 1 vehicle and 8 people. Double units= 2 vehicles and 12 people.
It has 66 campsites and it can accommodate RVs up to 40' long. It also has fresh water, and RV sanitation disposal.

Big Flat Campground (Klamath NF)
It has 5 campsites and it can accommodate RVs up to 15' long.
Bowerman Boat Ramp -- Trinity Lake, CA Campgrounds The ramp is usable to 47'. Boat storage is also available.
It has 10 campsites located at the Stuarts Trailhead. It can accommodate RVs up to 12' long. It has a corral, and it has fresh water.
Campgrounds It has 30 campsites and it can accommodate RVs up to 20' long. Group camping is available. Fresh water.
It has 21 campsites and it can accommodate RVs up to 20' long. It also has 34 picnic units, beach, fresh water, and a courtesy boat ramp.
Captains Point Boat-In Campground
It has 3 campsites that are accessible by boat only.
It has 22 campsites. Access is by unpaved road. No water.
Located on the shores of Lewiston Lake, approximately 4 miles north of Lewiston on County Road 105, and 17 miles from Weaverville. There are 5 paved campsites, furnished with a table and fireplace, paved wheelchair accessible trails and one vault restroom. There is a camp host at this facility. The Cooper Gulch day use area has 5 parking spaces for people to fish and/or to hike on the Baker Gulch Trail.
Eagle Creek Campground -- Trinity River
North It has 17 campsites and it can accommodate RVs up to 27' long. Fresh water is available.
East Weaver Campground -- Located South of Trinity Lake
It has 15 campsites and it can accommodate RVs up to 16'. Fresh water is available.
It is a group campsite that can accommodate up to 300 people. RVs up to 37' long can make use of the park. Fresh water is available.
Fairview Boat Ramp
The ramp is usable to 57'. Boat storage is available.
It has 6 campsites and it can accommodate RVs up to 15' long. No water. Access is by unpaved road.
It has 94 campsites and it can accommodate RVs up to 40' long. Fresh water and an amphitheater are available.
It has 16 campsites and it can accommodate RVs up to 15' long. No water.
It has 21 campsites and it can accommodate RVs up to 32' long. Access is by unpaved road.
Mariners Roost Boat-In Campground
It has 7 campsites that are accessible by boat only. No Water.
Mary Smith campground is located on the shores of Lewiston Lake. There are 17 walk-in camp sites, with a fireplace and table. No trailers allowed. There are both flush and vault restrooms.
It has 21 campsites and it can accommodate RVs up to 18' long. The area also features fresh water, and a boat ramp that is usable to 220'.
It has 45 campsites and it can accommodate RVs up to 32' long. Fresh water is available.
It has 21 campsites that are accessible by boat only.
Ridgeville Island Boat-In Campground
It has 3 campsites that are accessible by boat only.
It has 10 campsites and it can accommodate RVs up to 15' long. No piped water.
Scott Mountain Campground -- (elevation 5400')
It has 7 campsites and it can accommodate RVs up to 15' long.
It is a group campsite capable of holding up to 50 people. It has fresh water and 10 parking spurs.
Stoney Creek Swim Area -- Trinity Lake, CA
4 picnic areas, fresh water, boat ramp and is wheelchair accessible. No overnight camping.

The ramp is usable to 32'.
Tanbark Picnic Area
It has 4 picnic units and it is wheelchair accessible. Day use only.
Campgrounds It has 83 campsites and it can accommodate RVs up to 40' long. It has a beach access, fresh water, boat ramp and a amphitheater.
Trinity Center Boat Ramp -- Trinity Lake
The ramp is usable to 70'. Boat storage is available.
It has 7 campsites and it can accommodate RVs up to 32' long. Fresh water is available, and it's open year-round.

The second largest wilderness area in California, the Trinity Alps Wilderness nearly doubled in size by the 1984 California Wilderness Act. In that same year, it was added to the National Wilderness Preservation System. It currently has over 600 miles of trails and embraces over 500,000 acres of land.
Chiseled granite peaks and alpine lakes dot the Trinity Alps Wilderness, with elevations from 2,000 feet in creek drainages to 9,000 feet at summits. This wilderness offers many different trails ranging from 1.5 miles to 15 miles at varying levels of difficulty.

Cooper Gulch -- Lewiston Lake, CA Campgrounds
It has 5 campsites and it can accommodate RVs up to 16' long. It also has fresh water and it is wheelchair accessible.
Cooper Gulch is located on the southern half of Lewiston Lake, offering excellent fishing and camping. This campground is on the water's edge and is a favorite spot of fisherman.
Mary Smith -- Lewiston Lake, CA Campgrounds
It has 18 campsites and fresh water supply. Tent camping only.

Pine Cove Boat Ramp -- Lewiston Lake, CA. No Campgrounds.
The boat ramp usable year-round. No Campsites. It also has 2 picnic units and it is wheelchair accessible.
